Signing Up for Job Sites

When you go to the job sites, try to sign up for each using the same user ID and password at each if possible. If you don't have to share a computer at home, have your browser save your passwords for you, or use a program that saves them (do not do this at work!). You can clear them out later, and it will save you a lot of time. Make sure you block your current employer from being able to view your resume. Have a notebook and pen by the phone (or use a Palm Pilot type device) to keep track of all your phone calls and/or appointments. Day Runner makes an efficient and useful phone call log. Or get a very small notebook, the kind that fits in a back pocket or purse to scribble all your numbers down so that you can return the calls.
